Tanzanian Government Bans Celebrities From Posting Raunchy Photos Online

Through Music Regulatory Board, popularly known as BASATA, the Tanzanian Government has banned all celebrities from posting nudes photos on social media while in their line of work.

According to the Executive secretary of the Board, those affected by the ban will not be allowed to do music for a period of six months.

Actress Susan Michael aka Pretty Kind was the first one to be summoned by the Magufuli's government for posting nude photos on Instagram, Facebook and Snapchat.

Pretty Kind apologised to the government and is now serving her ‘sentence’.

In 2017 the Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority (TCRA) proposed the Electronic and Postal Communications (Online Content) Regulations, 2017, draft.

This meant that users would be held liable for posting content deemed "indecent, obscene, hate speech, extreme violence or material that will offend or incite others, cause annoyance, threaten, or encourage or incite crime, or lead to public disorder, per the law."

Online radio, TV, bloggers and other digital platforms are also required to register with the TCRA.

"Clarke and I are really excited that in June our team will expand from two to three, and that we'll be joining the many parents out there who wear two hats," she said in a Facebook post.

"I'll be Prime Minister AND a mum, and Clarke will be 'first man of fishing' and stay-at-home dad."

Speaking to reporters outside her home on Friday morning, Ardern said she would be taking six weeks leave following the baby's birth.

"I am not the first woman to multi-task, I'm not the first woman to work and have a baby, I know these are special circumstances but there will be many women who will have done this well before I have," she said.

Ardern said she learned she was pregnant in October during negotiations to form a minority New Zealand government, "but as many couples do in the early stages, we kept it to ourselves," she said.

Nigerian Oil Tycoon Walter Wagbatsoma Jailed In UK

Nigerian businessman Walter Wagbatsoma, 47, was on Wednesday sentenced to three years and six months imprisonment for money laundering in the United Kingdom.

Wagbatsoma was also disqualified from being a company director for six years.

According to Lincolnshire police, he fraudulently obtained funds in the UK and where laundered through an account in Dubai under the control of a co-conspirator Oluwatoyin Allison, a UK national who was convicted in his absence at an earlier trial in April 2017 and sentenced to seven years imprisonment.

The funds were then transferred to Wagbatsoma’s account in the UK.

Following a trial at Leicester Crown Court a thirteenth defendant has been convicted of conspiracy to launder money in an international fraud and money laundering investigation.

This investigation was conducted by Lincolnshire Police Economic Crime Unit under Operation Tarlac, in which over £12m was defrauded from public bodies including hospital trusts, housing associations and councils around the UK.

Walter Wagbatsoma, 47, was originally detained on a European Arrest Warrant in June 2016 whilst travelling through Germany. He was extradited soon afterwards and charged with conspiring with others to launder the proceeds of fraud through his business interests in the UK.

Wagbatsoma, an oil and gas businessman, was on trial in Nigeria at the time of his arrest for his part in a £1.9 billion oil subsidy fraud for which he was convicted and sentenced in his absence to 10-years imprisonment in January last year.

This is the third criminal trial for this operation and follows the successful conviction of 12 other defendants in the investigation which began with a complaint of fraud from Lincolnshire Partnership Foundation Trust in September 2011, in which £1.28m was fraudulently obtained by the gang.

Subsequently, a further 20 linked offences was identified resulting in losses of £12.6m.

After a four-year investigation, those convicted have received prison sentences in excess of 50-years and proceedings are underway to recover the gains of the conspiracy under the Proceeds of Crime Act.

This is to make sure that victims can in some way be recompensed for what the Judge described as a “sophisticated and widespread fraud in its conception and execution.”

Mariah Carey Sues Promoters For Cancelled Shows, But They Counter Sue Her Saying, NO It's Your Fault

Mariah Carey tried to pass the buck on South American promoters, laying the blame on them for her canceled 'Sweet Sweet Fantasy' gigs ... according to a countersuit they've just filed.

The promoter, Fenix, says it arranged for Mariah to play 2 shows on her tour, one in Argentina and one in Chile, but she pulled out. The "why" is what sparked this legal war.

Mariah's company initially sued Fenix, claiming it didn't pay her for the shows and damaged her brand.

But according to the new docs, obtained by TMZ, Fenix says it had paid Mariah nearly 75% of what she was due for the concerts -- $703,100. The promoter says that was standard ops based on previous deals with Mariah's camp.

In the suit, Fenix says it believes the real reason Mariah bailed is because she had low ticket sales at 3 shows in Brazil. Further, Fenix says Mariah defamed them when she tweeted to her nearly 17 million followers at the time ... her fans "deserve better than how some of these promoters treated them."

The company is suing for at least $3 million. Mariah's lawsuit against Fenix is still pending.

My Herbalist Friend Told Me He’s Having An Affair With My Wife - Man Tells Court

A husband, Mr Lamidi Adebayo, on Thursday, asked an Ado-Ekiti Customary Court to dissolve his 28 years marriage with his wife, Bose.

The petitioner is accusing Bose of adultery, drunkenness and dishonesty. Adebayo, 48, a commercial driver and resident of No. 89, Isato Street, Ado-Ekiti told the court that the couple had not conducted any marital rite but they have four children.

He further told the court that his neighbours had informed him several times that his wife and one of her friends were “touring the houses of men” but he never believed the information.

The petitioner said the nature of his job as a driver made it difficult for him to be at home always.

“I was shocked on November 7, 2017 when my childhood friend, named Lateef, a herbalist, invited me to his house and told me that I should forgive him that ‎he has been having secret affairs with my wife.

“He told me that my wife told him that her husband had died a long time ago, whereas am still very much alive,” he said.

The petitioner also alleged that the respondent ‎was a drunkard who takes gin, assorted wines and palm wine to stupor every morning.

Lamidi said he had tried every possible means ‎to stop his wife’s adulterous act and drunkenness but to no avail.

The petitioner, therefore, urged the court to dissolve the marriage because of her behaviour and dishonesty.

The plea of the woman was not immediately taken, but the ‎President of the Court, Mrs Olayinka Akomolede, after hearing the petitioner’s testimony adjourned the case to Feb.15, for further hearing.

Calabar Man Assaults His Three Weeks Old Daughter For Being A Girl

A man, Edet Asuquo, has fled his home in the Idi Araba area of Lagos State after he nearly killed his newborn baby, Gift Asuquo.

Little Gift’s offence was that she was a girl, as 32-year-old Edet was alleged to have said he didn’t see her usefulness and threatened to kill her.

Punch Metro learnt that Edet and the baby’s mother, Rosemary Kingsley, both indigenes of Calabar, Cross River State, were only dating when the woman became pregnant.

She was reported to have packed into the suspect’s apartment on Ayinla Street after she was delivered of the baby.

However, Edet, a bus conductor, was said to have been angry that his lover gave birth to a girl and not a boy as he expected, which resulted in frequent disagreements between them.

On January 10, 2018, the baby was reported to be hungry and was crying when the father allegedly slapped her.

She was said to have convulsed due to the severity of the assault and was rushed to a medical centre for treatment.

Some of the hospital workers reportedly called the attention of the Lagos State Office of the Public Defender to the matter, and the agency contacted the police at the Itire division.

Punch Metro learnt that by the time the police got to the house, the suspect had fled.

A social worker with the OPD told a Punch correspondent that blood spurted out of the baby’s nostrils as a result of the injury she sustained, adding that the mark of the slap was visible on her cheek.

She said, “We gathered that the two lovers were not married. She sold plantain chips, while the man was a bus conductor. They just met on the road and agreed to date each other. She became pregnant a few weeks into the relationship. At the initial stage, the man didn’t want to take responsibility for the pregnancy. But after she was delivered of the baby, he bowed to pressure and allowed both mother and child to move in with him. They lived in a shop.

“According to the woman, the baby was crying that morning while the father carried her. He started abusing the baby and saying a girl would not be useful to him because he wanted a boy. She said he slapped the baby. At that point, the baby started convulsing. It was the neighbours who compelled him to get drugs for the girl’s treatment. She was later taken to a hospital. The mark of the assault is visible on the child.

“When the matter got to our attention, we mobilised policemen to the house. However, we were told that he had escaped. The police have promised to get him arrested for assaulting the innocent baby. Even the mother was being maltreated by Edet; he seized her phone.”

The Director of the OPD, Mrs. Olubukola Salami, said the agency would ensure that the suspect faced the full wrath of the law.

“The rising trend in child abuse is alarming. Children are vulnerable and should be protected, not pummelled. The Lagos State Government will ensure the rights of children are protected and perpetrators who violate these rights, irrespective of status, are brought to book, no matter how long it takes,” she added.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Chike Oti, confirmed the incident, adding that the Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi, had ordered that the suspect be arrested.

He said, “The case was reported. The man slapped the baby and fled. We are looking for him. In fact, the CP, who detests abuse of children and domestic violence, has ordered the Divisional Police Officer to get him arrested. What he did is highly reprehensible and has no place in a modern society.”

UK Now Has A ‘Minister For Loneliness’

It sounds like a character from a dystopian novel, but Britain has created a “minister for loneliness” to tackle modern public health problems associated with social isolation.

The government said today it appointed Tracey Crouch after research showed as many as one in ten people felt lonely “always or often” and that hundreds of thousands of elderly people hadn’t spoken to a friend or relative in the past month.

Crouch will devise a national strategy to tackle isolation across all ages, and find ways of measuring alienation in official statistics.

"We know that there is a real impact of social isolation and loneliness on people, on their physical and mental well-being but also on other aspects in society and we want to tackle this challenge,” Crouch said.

World’s Oldest Female Virgin, 83, Weds...

An 83-year-old virgin simply identified as Naom, has found love with a 90-year-old father of 10, known as Rwakaikara. They exchanged their vows at St. James Cathedral, Kigorobya, Hoima District of Uganda.

The officiating minister, Bishop Kyamanywa, told the congregation that it is never too late when one follows the leading of God.

He also thanked the couple for waiting for their special day, UgandaBlizz reports.

He said the couple have challenged the young generation to also follow the way of God, stating that so far in his pastoral work, he has never wed a couple of this age and that this has been a blessing to him.

“It’s my first time since I started work as Bishop to wed an old virgin woman as Naom. This is amazing and the world will read and learn a lot about you,” he said.

Although Mr. Rwakaikara has 10 children and 40 grandchildren from his first (late) wife, his new wife Naom has never married before and doctors have confirmed she was still a first class virgin at 83 as of 24th December 2017.

Until her marriage, Naom was world’s oldest female virgin and has been receiving a lot of money from well-wishers to support her.

Breast-Feeding Reduces Risk Of Diabetes In Women

Breast-feeding may reduce a woman’s risk for Type 2 diabetes, a new study says.

Researchers followed 1,238 women, average age 24 at the start, for up to 30 years. Each delivered at least one baby, and none had diabetes before the study began. The scientists collected data on health and lifestyle at interviews and physical examinations conducted seven times over the course of the project. The study is in JAMA Internal Medicine.

There were 182 cases of diabetes, and after adjusting for physical activity, smoking and other factors, the researchers found that breast-feeding for up to six months was associated with a reduced risk for diabetes of 25 percent; breast-feeding for six to 12 months was tied to a 48 percent reduced risk; and breast-feeding for 12 months or more with a 47 percent risk reduction.

Hotels, Clubs Face Sanction In Ibadan Over Tax

Just like Lagos, the Oyo State Government says it will also sanction any player  in the hospitality industry which  defaults in the payment of  taxes and levies.

The State Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Mr Toye Arulogun, issued the warning today in Ibadan on the sidelines of  a  sensitisation visit to some  operators  in the hospitality industry.

Arulogun, who also announced 10 days ultimatum for them to pay their  dues, said only 30 percent of the players in the industry had complied.

“Today in Oyo State, many high-flying hotels, night-clubs as well as  event and recreation centres  have sprung up with a 103 percent increment in their growth rate.

“The growth experienced is a result of the enabling environment created by the state government.

“We are out to sensitise businesses in Oyo State about the need to be up to date in the payment of taxes and other levies,’’ he said.

Arulogun concluded that the growth recorded in the industry ought to manifest in the revenue generation of government as well.

Britain's Top Primary School Bans Hijabs, Says No To Fasting During Ramadan

The top state primary school in UK has banned girls under eight from wearing hijabs as well as fasting among young pupils.  St Stephen's primary school has called on the government to take a firm stand and follow suit rather than leaving schools to create their own rules.

The school in Newham, east London, has demanded that parents don't allow their children to fast throughout the school day during Ramadan when pupils will have to sit summer exams.

The chairman of governors at St Stephen's, Arif Qawi, has proposed that the Department for Education should 'step up and take it out of our hands'.

He added: 'We did not ban fasting altogether but we encouraged them [children] to fast in holidays, at weekends and not on the school campus. Here we are responsible for their health and safety if they pass out on campus. It is not fair to us.'

Mr Qawi announced that he had spoken to Muslim clerics who told him that boys should fast from puberty.

However some children at St Stephen's were fasting from the age of eight or nine which Mr Qawi said just seemed wrong.

He said: 'It is unfair to teachers and very unfair to governors. We are unpaid. Why should we get the backlash?'

Headmistress of St Stephen's, Neena Lall, backed the change in a bid to make the pupils feel more integrated into the school.

She recalled asking the children a couple of years ago to put their hand up if they thought they were British, and very few did.

Pope Warns World Is Close To Nuclear War

Pope Francis has said he is afraid about the danger of nuclear war and that the world now stood at “the very limit”.

His comment, made as he flew off for a visit to Chile and Peru, came after Hawaii issued a false missile alert that provoked panic in the U.S. state and highlighted the risk of possible unintended nuclear war with North Korea.

Asked if he was worried about the possibility of nuclear war, Pope Francis said: “I think we are at the very limit. I am really afraid of this. One accident is enough to precipitate things.”

He did not mention Hawaii or North Korea.

Pope Francis has often flagged the danger of nuclear warfare and in November he appeared to harden the Catholic Church’s teaching against nuclear weapons, saying countries should not stockpile them even for the purpose of deterrence.

As reporters boarded his plane bound for Chile, Vatican officials handed out a photograph taken in 1945 that shows a young Japanese boy carrying his dead brother on his shoulders following the U.S. nuclear attack on Nagasaki.

“I was moved when I saw this. The only thing I could think of adding were the words ‘the fruit of war’,” Francis said, referring to a caption put on the back of the image.

“I wanted to have it reprinted and distributed because an image like this can be more moving than a thousand words. That is why I wanted to share it with you,” he said.

Donald Trump Denies Being A Racist

President Donald Trump has denied that he is racist, after a row broke out over his alleged use of the word "shithole" to describe African nations.

Mr Trump reportedly used the term last week during a bipartisan Oval Office meeting on immigration reform. He has now told reporters: "I am not a racist. I'm the least racist person you have ever interviewed."

It is the first time the president has responded directly to the racism accusations.

He made the denial to White House press pool reporters at the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach in Florida last night.

Twin Suicide Bombings In Baghdad Kill 38

Twin suicide bombings rocked Baghdad today, killing 38 people in the deadliest attack since Iraq declared victory over the Islamic State group last month, and raising fears ahead of national elections planned for May.

The bombers targeted the bustling Tayran Square, in the heart of the capital, setting off their explosive vests among laborers and street vendors during the morning rush hour. More than 100 people were wounded, according to police and hospital officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to the media.

No one has claimed the attacks, but they bore the hallmarks of IS.

Iraqi forces have driven IS from all the territory the extremists once held, but the militant group has proven resilient in the past and is likely to continue carrying out insurgent-style attacks.

Ambulances rushed to the scene as security forces sealed off the area with yellow tape.

Slippers could be seen scattered about on the blood-stained pavement as cleaners hurried to clear the debris.

"It was tremendous, I felt the ground shaking under my feet," said Munthir Falah, a secondhand clothes vendor whose chest and right leg were pierced by shrapnel. He said he fell to the ground and lost consciousness before later waking up in a hospital.

The father of three said government forces had failed to secure the capital.

"They think that Daesh is done," he said, referring to IS by an Arabic acronym. "They don't bother themselves to exert efforts to secure Baghdad."

Einas Khalil, a Baghdad housewife, blamed the security breakdown on the country's feuding politicians, many of whom are connected to different state-sanctioned militias or branches of the security forces.

All the evidence gathered in Nelly's alleged rape case has been released, including surveillance videos and photos from the night of his arrest, TMZ reports.

Auburn PD, in Washington State, completed its investigation last month, and prosecutors dropped the case, primarily because the alleged victim refused to testify. Now that the criminal case is closed, cops are revealing the photos and videos gathered during the investigation.

The evidence includes surveillance videos, showing Nelly and the accuser, Monique Greene, leaving the Seattle nightclub where they met, getting on his tour bus and also the moment when she leaves the bus and calls police to report the alleged rape.

Greene has filed a lawsuit against Nelly for sexual assault and defamation. Nelly has vowed to sue her, although he's yet to file.

The police docs include Nelly and Greene's versions of what went down on the bus, and they're vastly different. Nelly told police their sex, oral and vaginal was consensual, and Greene had removed her own clothing. He says he did not use a condom, but also said he did not ejaculate. He claimed Greene only got upset because she thought he was involved with one of his dancers, who was also on the bus at the time.

Greene told police Nelly forcefully removed her pants and threw her onto the bed, and said, "You're gonna take this d**k." She says he repeatedly told her during the intercourse, "That's my p***y." She says the forcible sex lasted for 30 minutes, and she believed he had ejaculated inside her, and also on her backside and front.

Greene says Nelly offered her $2,500 and asked her to stay on the bus until their next destination, but she told him she's not a prostitute. She claims someone else pushed her off the bus, and Nelly threw a $100 bill at her.

Uber & Careem To Recruit Female Drivers In Saudi

Ride hailing applications in Saudi Arabia are recruiting female drivers, after the Kingdom announced plans to lift the ban on women driving by June 2018.

Female customers currently represent 80% of Uber's Saudi rider base and 70% of business for its Dubai-based counterpart, Careem, according to statistics shared with CNN by both companies. The apps are a lifeline to women with no independent way to get around the Kingdom.

Currently, all drivers employed by the two firms are male, mostly Saudi nationals driving their privately-owned vehicles.

Following the ground-breaking royal decree that announced plans to lift the ban on women driving last September, however, both companies have been preparing to hire their first female drivers.

After the decree was issued, the company launched a series of 90-minute training sessions, in the Saudi cities of Riyadh, Jeddah and Al Khobar, targeting Saudi women who have already acquired valid driving licenses while abroad.

Saturday, January 13, 2018 Report Says Trump Actually Paid P*rn Star £100k To Keep Quiet Over Fling Prior To Election

Donald Trump allegedly had a fling with a porn star just a year after he married third wife Melania, it was reported last night.

And the US president’s lawyer was said to have paid Stephanie Clifford £100,000 in the run up to his 2016 election victory in America not to discuss the claims, Wall Street Journal claims.

The White House last night strenuously denied the allegation, made in the Wall Street Journal.

Clifford, 38, who performed under the name Stormy Daniels, had supposedly been in talks with ABC’s Good Morning America TV show in the autumn of that year about an appearance to discuss her tryst with Trump.

But later received the hush money after supposedly signing a nondisclosure agreement.

Her allegation was one of several made by women against the billionaire.

A White House spokesman said: “These are old, recycled reports, which were published and strongly denied prior to the election.”

Lawyer Michael Cohen, who is alleged to have brokered the deal with Clifford, also refused to talk about the cash.

He said: “President Trump once again vehemently denies any such occurrence as has Ms Daniels.”

School Girls Menstruating In Ghana Banned From Crossing River

Ghanaian schoolgirls have been banned from crossing a river while they are menstruating and on Tuesdays.

The ban, apparently given by a local river god, has outraged children's activists, especially as girls must cross the river to reach school. It means girls in the Upper Denkyira East district, in the Central Region, could miss out on their education.

Already, Sub-Saharan Africa is already struggling to keep girls in school during their periods, according to reports.

The UN's scientific and education organisation, Unesco, estimates one in 10 girls in the region does not attend school because they are menstruating, while a World Bank report notes that 11.5m Ghanaian women lack the appropriate hygiene and sanitation management facilities needed.

Unicef's menstrual hygiene ambassador Shamima Muslim Alhassan told BBC Pidgin that the directive, which applies to part of the River Ofin, violated girls' right to education.

"It seems the gods are really powerful aren't they?" she said.

"Sometimes I think that we need to ask for some form of accountability from these gods who continue to bar a lot of things from happening, to account for how they have used the tremendous power that we have given them."

The River Ofin serves as a boundary between the Ashanti and Central Region.

Women Accusing Russell Simmons Of Sexual Misconduct Reaches 14

Russell Simmons has two more rape allegations to deal with, because two women have gone to police and filed criminal complaints.

Law enforcement sources tell Tmz, the two women filed police reports with the NYPD late last month, alleging the music mogul raped them in 1983 and 1991, respectively.

One of those women is Sherri Hines, who appeared on Megyn Kelly's show in December.

She told cops Simmons raped her at his office in '83, which jibes with what she said on the show.

The other woman who remains anonymous claims Simmons raped her at his Manhattan residence after they'd gone out on a date in '91. She was 32 at the time, and alleges he tried taking off her dress while sitting on a couch, and then pushed her down and forcibly raped her when she rejected his advances.

The total number of women accusing Simmons of sexual misconduct was 13,  the anonymous woman makes it 14.

Russell has denied all previous claims against him and, has even taken and passed a polygraph in an attempt to refute at least one of the allegations.

The NYPD is already investigating Simmons for at least 7 claims of sexual misconduct.
