US Ignore Shittes, Sells Warplane, Weapons Of N181bn To Nigeria

Recall a Nigerian Shiite group, Islamic Movement of Nigeria, IMN, wrote to the United States government urging it not to sell weapons or any military hardware to the Nigerian government? Well the US seems to have ignored them and just sold weapons worth N181bn to Nigeria.

According to Reuters, the Headquarters of the United States Department of Defence, the Pentagon, has informed the US Congress of the sale of 12 Super Tucano A-29 ground attack aircraft and weapons to Nigeria to fight Boko Haram insurgency.

According to them, the Pentagon communicated the sale of the 12 ground attack aircraft valued at $593m (N181bn) to the US Congress on Monday.

The report quoted Pentagon’s Defence Security Cooperation Agency as having made the announcement to the US legislature.

Kim Jong Un Launches New Missile Which Flies Over PANICKED Japan

North Korea has fired a missile that passed over northern Japan yesterday. The government's J-Alert text message warning system and sirens advised people in the area to take precautions and move to a 'sturdy building or basement'.

The Japanese military did not attempt to shoot down the missile, which passed over its territory around 6.06am local time.

It broke into three pieces off the coast of Hokkaido and landed in the Pacific Ocean, around 700 miles east of Cape Erimo, after travelling 1,700m in eight minutes.

It is the first time North Korea has fired a projectile over Japan since 2009. Kim Jong Un has been conducting a series of test launches and recently threatened the US territory of Guam.

Whitney Houston Was In A Lesbian Relationship, New Documentary Shows

Whitney Houston's closest friends believe she was in a lesbian relationship with her assistant. In a documentary about her life, those closest to Whitney say she was in a relationship with Robyn Crawford, 56, the woman who spent 20 years by her side working for her.

It sees Ellin Lavar, who dressed the singer, and her security guard, Kevin Ammons, confess that Whitney was bisexual and in love with her assistant.

After Whitney died in 2012, her ex-husband Bobby Brown said she might still be alive if she was allowed to be open about her sexuality.

In the documentary, her former bodyguard David Roberts even said that Robyn and Brown would have physical fights over their shared loved of the singer, and the intensity of their relationship even led to her exile from Whitney's inner circle.

Speaking exclusively to MailOnline, documentary maker Nick Broomfield credits Robyn for keeping Whitney 'on the rails' but believes her fans are too obsessed with the intimate details of their relationship.

The filmmaker, whose movie about the legend airs on the BBC this weekend, finds it bizarre that Whitney's fans are so interested in her sexuality and the nature of her relationship with Robyn.

He told MailOnline: 'It's almost like people want the condom or here's the stained sheet. I don't know what kind of conclusive proof one wants except this is the closest relationship for years that Whitney had.

'They shared a house together; they often shared the same bed. I think the most important thing is that it was the most productive, supportive and creative relationship that she had for probably 15 years.'

In the movie Ellin states her belief that Whitney was bisexual, having feelings for both Robyn and her husband Bobby Brown.

Ellin says: 'I don't think she was gay, I think she was bisexual. Robyn provided a safe place for her… in that Whitney found safety and solace.'

Whitney died in 2012 when she drowned after suffering a massive heart attack, brought on by years of cocaine abuse.

Her friends and family - and even Bobby Brown - believe that she might still be alive if she was allowed to be with Robyn.

Nick said: 'Bobby Brown loved Whitney enough to say if Robyn Crawford had been around he believed Whitney would still be alive. I think she did an amazing job of keeping her on the rails, keeping her more or less on time for interviews and that kind of thing.

'Certainly the people closest to Whitney, like Bobby Brown and Patti Howard, all feel that Robyn got driven out. If she stayed around, Whitney would probably be around too.'

Robyn worked as Whitney's assistant from 1979 and eventually earned the position of creative director before quitting in 2000.

Whitney's family and friends believe Robyn was pushed out by her mother Cissy Houston, who disapproved of their romance.

Kim Admits North Doesn't Like Her Little Brother ... But Keeps Mute On Taylor

Taylor Swift took a dig at Kim Kardashian when she debuted her music video Look What You Made Me Do at the MTV VMAs on Sunday evening.

But the next day the 36-year-old reality TV siren seemed to completely brush off the strike as she got ready to co-host Live with Ryan Seacrest.

The beauty will be filling in all week as Kelly Ripa is on break. On the show Kim said that she is working in LA while her family is on vacation all summer. Sister Kourtney was in St Tropez.

Kris is mama bear but Kim is also mama bear,' said Ryan adding Kim was the family 'diplomat.'

Kim added she 'likes the role' and that Kendall Jenner recently admitted she needed to come to Kim for more advice.

She also said her kids North and Saint aren't best friends.

I thought it was a phase. She does not like her brother. It is so hard for me… I thought it was like, OK a couple of months. She gets so jealous when I breastfeed. The phase isn’t going away,' confessed the Selfish author.

She added North will 'slam the door in her brother's face' and Saint will mimic North.

Ryan asked if Kim and Kanye ever sleep in separate beds. 'Every blue moon' they do if she needs to stay with North or Saint. 'It's not like Kourtney and Scott used to which was two separate full rooms.'

But she added: 'I want to sleep in bed with my spouse.'

Boko Haram: Escapee Recounts Orderal In Sambisa Forest

A 25-year- old housewife and mother of five, Aisha Bukar yesterday recounted her ordeal in the hands of Boko-Haram insurgents, saying she, her husband, mother-in-law and children, fed on ‘weeds’ to survive.

Mrs. Bukar, one of the captives of the insurgents, escaped from their enclave after a military war plane bombed their hideout in Sambisa Forest recently.

She told News Agency of Nigeria that she escaped from the camp with her husband, mother in-law and the five children.

She said members of her family were incarcerated for about three years by the insurgents in the Sambisa Forest.

She recalled that the insurgents abducted them while working in a farm at Talala, a village in Damboa Local Government Area of Borno.

Mrs. Bukar added that they had denied them food and drugs, following her husband’s refusal to fight for their group.

She said: “We were working in the farm when the insurgents abducted me, my husband, children and mother in-law. They took us deep into Sambisa Forest, where we stayed for about three years.

“They asked my husband to take up arms and fight for them, a request he declined; they became infuriated and labeled him as stubborn; to break his will, they denied us food and drugs.

“We barely survived on leaves and weeds; we also relied on herbs when sick; they distributed food only to their fighters and those who submit to their demands.”

Mrs. Bukar lamented that the insurgents meted out inhuman treatments and abuses on women and children under their captivity.

The escapee revealed that the insurgents compelled captives, including women and children, to be attending preaching and lecture sessions.

She said: “My husband was flogged on many occasions over his persistent absenteeism at the lecture sessions. His back is covered with ugly scars of injuries sustained from merciless beating by the insurgents.”

Trump To Visit Texas To Survey Response To Storm Harvey

The U.S. President Donald Trump planned to visit Texas today to survey the response to devastating Tropical Storm Harvey, the first major natural disaster of his White House tenure.

The slow-moving storm has brought catastrophic flooding to Texas, killed at least nine people, led to mass evacuations and paralyzed Houston, the fourth most-populous U.S. city.

It had also roiled energy markets and wrought damage estimated to be in the billions of dollars, with rebuilding likely to last beyond Trump's current four-year term in office.

"My administration is coordinating closely with state and local authorities in Texas and Louisiana to save lives, and we thank our first responders and all of those involved in their efforts," Trump told reporters at the White House yesterday.

Katie Price Kicks Husband Out Of Home

Katie Price has reportedly kicked Kieran Hayler out of their Sussex mansion after discovering he had a year-long affair with their nanny.

The former glamour model, 39, detailed how she 'cried and screamed' after discovering the ex-stripper, 30, slept with Nikki Brown in 'every room of the house'.

And now the mum-of-five has been forced to throw Kieran out because he refuses to accept that his cheating has broken up their four-year marriage, sources claimed.

It's pretty unbelievable but Kieran actually believed he could cling on to their marriage after all he's done — and that has really annoyed her,' a source told The Sun.

'Katie is heartbroken by yet another betrayal yet he still didn't seem to get the message it was over.'

The insider claimed Kieran was 'hanging around' the house again this week and posting photos on social media as if everything was normal - despite Katie telling him 'repeatedly' that it was over.

'Behind closed doors all hell was breaking loose, she was absolutely raging. Eventually he gave up and left,' the source continued.

Kieran allegedly turned up at the West Sussex family home again on Sunday night and pleaded with Katie to let him stay after claiming he had nowhere else to go.

How I Lost My Wife, 3 Son-In-Laws To Boko Haram Terrorists -Blind IDP

A 67-year-old blind displaced person, Mr Babakura Mustapha, has moved his family out of the Dalori Internally Displaced Persons camp in Maiduguri due to the alleged activities of rapists.

Mustapha, who has six daughters, said the Boko Haram terrorists kidnapped his wife and murdered his three son-in-laws. He added that one of his daughters was raped in the IDP camp.

About two million persons displaced by the Boko Haram insurgency are taking shelter in various camps in Maiduguri and other liberated communities in the North-East.

Six of the 11 designated camps in Maiduguri are managed by the National Emergency Management Agency, while five others are under the Wold Food Programme.

Mustapha said on Sunday in Maiduguri that he had evacuated his six daughters from the camp to save them from rapists.

The retired civil servant alleged that unknown men attacked and vandalised the tent housing his daughters after they refused to submit to their sexual advances.

He also alleged that unidentified men in the camp enticed women with N100 or N200 as token for sex, adding that they also forced themselves on those who refused to cooperate.

“I came into the Dalori camp from Bama in the past three years after the Boko Haram insurgents sacked the town.

“The insurgents abducted my wife; I have six daughters, three of them are widows because the insurgents killed their husbands, while the remaining three are spinsters.

“Every night you hear the cry of women when they are being attacked by rapists. One of my daughters was also attacked by rapists and as a result she sustained fatal injuries.

“Since then, I have always kept vigil at night, to guard against intrusion by suspected rapists into the girls’ tent.

“My health condition worsened in the camp and my vision impaired after I had glaucoma infection,” he said.

Mustapha added that in view of his predicament he could not protect his daughters from mounting pressures of the rapists who devised various means to seduce women.

He lamented that many women suffered in the hands of the rapists in various camps in the state.

“I would rather move out of the camp than to allow my daughters become sex toys to randy elements,’’ he said.

Mustapha said that he had met a kind-hearted person in Maiduguri who offered him a room to stay with his family.

Also, Mrs Fatima Bana, a rape victim, corroborated Mustapha’s experience, and also alleged that many women had been raped in the camps in Maiduguri.

Fatima said the rapists forcefully had canal knowledge of women who refused to take money or cooperate with them.

She noted that most women had experienced one form of sexual abuse or assault in the camps.

“One night, I went out to fetch water and some men pursued me. I started running and I fell down and broke my shoulder.

“Some kind-hearted persons came to my rescue; this made the rapist to run away,” Bana said.

Alhaji Muhammad Kanar, the NEMA Zonal Coordinator, North-East, said the agency had adopted proactive measures to check sexual abuse and violation of rights of the IDPs.

Kanar said that the agency was working with the Borno State Ministry of Women Affairs and Federation of Women Lawyers, to protect and guarantee the rights of the IDPs.

“We have no reports of the incidents. Nonetheless, the agency will investigate the matter and the culprits will be prosecuted,” he assured.

The zonal coordinator added that the agency had deployed aid workers and security personnel to ensure protection of IDPs in camps within the region.

He urged the IDPs to report cases of violation of their rights to NEMA officials posted to the camps.

Cricket Star Keeps His Fitness Tracker On During S*x To Motivate Him To Try Harder, But Wife HATES It

Andrew 'Freddie' Flintoff has revealed he keeps his fitness tracker on during sex - to motivate him to "try a bit harder".

The former England cricket star says he keeps his FitBit on even during intimate moments with wife Rachael, who isn't too impressed.

Flintoff, 39, says he's currently trying to burn 4,000 calories a day so has to monitor every type of exercise - even romps in the bedroom.

But Rachael, 37, said she finds the FitBit offputting.

In new Channel 4 show Married To A Celebrity: The Survival Guide, she says: "This is the weirdest and most wrong out of everything you do.

"Robbie Savage bought him a Fitbit for Christmas but there’s certain intimate moments in the bedroom, you should take your Fitbit off."

"Things are happening and then your husband’s wrist is flashing telling him his heartbeat and how hard he’s working. It’s really wrong.

"It’s putting me off though. It’s like you’re seeing it as another training session rather than anything else.

"It’s really not nice."

Freddie replies: "I just want to get my steps in! When I get excited my legs start going, the steps go on.

"But if I try a bit harder, I can get to 4,000 calories."

The pair have been married for 12 years and have three children Holly, Corey and Rocky.

"You can say a lot of things about me, but you cannot say I don’t work hard. I am not lazy" - Kim Kardashian insists in new interview

Kim Kardashian-West is the cover girl with her daughter North for the September 2017 issue of Interview Magazine and she addressed some of the criticism against her, especially suggestions that she is lazy and making money from having no talent. Dismissing this, the reality star said;

I used to say, “I love being underestimated.” But now when I hear, “They’re so not talented,”—ten years into it—I’m kind of like, “Okay, give a girl a little respect.” If I’m so not talented, if I do nothing, then how is my career my reality? And I poke fun at it, like when I was on the cover of Forbes I posted the hashtag #NotBadForAGirlWithNoTalent.

I don’t mind being underestimated because it does fuel me. But after a while, I do feel like, “C’mon, you can recognize a little bit.”

You can say a lot of things about me, but you cannot say I don’t work hard. I don’t sing. I don’t dance. I don’t act. But I am not lazy.

Police Beat Lawyers For ‘Disrespecting’ Assistant Commissioner Of Police

Two legal practitioners have accused policemen from the Ogun State Police Command of assault, saying they were beaten for alleged disrespect to the Ijebu Ode Police Area Commander, ACP Funsho Ajao.

Punch Metro learnt that the victims – Adekoya Adebayo and Sola Ajisebutu – had gone to a bar at Molipa, in the Ijebu Ode area of Ogun State, to meet a client for a business discussion.

After the discussion, the owner of the bar reportedly took Adebayo to Ajao’s seat in the pub, seeking to start a relationship between the lawyer and the police boss.

However, after the introduction went awry, Adebayo stormed out of the bar and was about entering into his car when a policeman allegedly accosted him.

The policeman was alleged to have queried the lawyer for not prostrating for the commander and slapped him.

Adebayo’s friend, Ajisebutu, who had a physical disability and used crutches, was said to have been pushed to the ground when he attempted to mediate.

Adebayo, who claimed that his fiancée was also assaulted, told Punch Metro that the chamber he worked with, Kayode Oshiyemi and Co, had not been in friendly terms with the office of the area commander.

He said prior to the incident, the chamber had written petitions against the area commander for allegedly fraternising with a rich man in the state to frustrate the course of justice in a case involving another client.

He said, “On Sunday, August 6, 2017, I was heading to my house in Molipa, with my friend and fiancée in my car, when a client called that I should stop over at a bar near the Goodluck Filling Station, Molipa.

“I got to the place around 11.30pm because of traffic. After a brief discussion with the client, I decided to leave. The bar owner, who was a friend, grabbed my hand and said he wanted me to meet with somebody.

“He took me to a table where the area commander was seated. There were empty beer bottles on the table. Even before the introduction, as a cultured Yoruba man, I had bowed and greeted him without knowing who he was. The bar owner said, ‘Meet the area commander’. We exchanged pleasantries.

“However, I remembered that there had been a matter between the chamber I work with, and the office of the area commander. But I maintained my composure.

“During the introduction, he got to know I worked with the Kayode Oshiyemi’s chamber and his countenance changed. Immediately, I sensed trouble and hurried out of the bar.

“I was about to enter my car when one of the policemen, who was in mufti, asked why I was standing straight to address the area commander and that I should have prostrated. I told him the area commander was not up to a magistrate or a high court judge that we stand to address daily.

“He slapped me. The other policemen, who were in uniform, beat me and used the butts of their guns to hit me. My fiancée was also assaulted.”

His friend, Ajisebutu, who was observing the scene, reportedly intervened and asked the policemen to stop the assault.

He was allegedly pushed.

He said, “Based on my condition, I could not fight with them. I saw as they were punching and hitting him with their guns. I was trying to ask what he did wrong when they pushed me. I decided to stay away. They were about eight policemen.”

The head of the Kayode Oshiyemi and Co. chamber, Kayode Oshiyemi, said he had petitioned the Office of the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 2, over the assault.

The petition, dated August 13, 2017, also copied the Office of the Attorney General, Ogun State Ministry of Justice; and the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State.

Oshiyemi after recounting the incident, said his firm had previously written petitions against Ajao over his alleged bias and corrupt practices.

He said, “It is the deliberate omission of the police authorities to act in respect of previous petitions written against ACP Funsho Ajao that makes him feel he is untouchable. He has gone too far this time, as it took the intervention of another police officer, named Anthony, who recognised our client to rescue him from being further maimed.”

He called for investigations into the incident to avert a “looming breach of the public peace and public protest.”

The Ogun State police spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi, faulted the narratives of the lawyers.

He said, “The area commander went to the place to relax and on getting there, he met a prominent person in the community. The person tried to introduce him to the lawyer. I don’t know if the lawyer had known the area commander before or not. But as the man was doing the introduction, the lawyer said there was no big deal in meeting the area commander and should he kill himself over that? The man doing the introduction, who is the lawyer’s brother, felt embarrassed. The man reprimanded him for the action.

“He flared up and started abusing the area commander. It is not possible for all that to be happening and the security details of the area commander will just sit and watch. They queried his manners. They wanted to get him arrested, but his brother slapped him. The area commander would not descend low to be exchanging words with somebody who was misbehaving in that manner.

“Is he the only lawyer in Nigeria? We have thousands of qualified lawyers in the Nigeria Police Force as well. Before someone will rise to the rank of an area commander, if he were a lawyer, he would have become a Senior Advocate of Nigeria.”

Abimbola condemned the disrespectful attitude of some lawyers to police officers, saying the command would not be intimidated.

The owner of the bar, identified only as Alhaji, said the lawyer was to blame for the fracas.

He said, “Adebayo frequents my bar and I once told him I was going to see the area commander. He asked if I could facilitate a meeting between them. He said the commander did not like to relate with young lawyers.

“I had not got the chance until the area commander came to the bar with his boys to relax. If I knew the lawyer was drunk that night, I wouldn’t have done what I did. ‘He insulted the area commander and the policemen were provoked. He also said a traditional chief sitting with the police officer wore ropes around his neck, instead of beads. The oba almost cursed him. He brought everything on himself. I can’t take sides with him because of our closeness.”

Boko Haram Leader Who Took Part In Chibok Girls Kidnap Surrenders

A top commander of the Boko Haram sect who played a major role in the abduction of over 200 schoolgirls at the Government Secondary School, Chibok on April 14, 2014 Auwal Ismaeela, has surrendered to the military in Borno State.

Auwal is among over 100 members of the sect who have surrendered recently to the military.

An Abuja-based public relations outfit to the military and security agencies, the PR Nigeria, stated in a report on Sunday that the Boko Haram commander now undergoing interrogation also confessed to have participated in the killings of youths in Madagali, Adamawa State and other parts of the North-East.

He was said to have denounced the atrocious acts he committed against humanity while speaking at a special military programme for surrendered and repentant members of the deadly group.

Ismaeela was said to have confessed that he and one Abu Hafsat led the Boko Haram commanders to carry out the abduction of the Chibok girls.

He was also said to have confessed to the killing of some students of the Central Secondary School in Sabon Garin, Madagali in 2014.

He said that he regretted his actions which, he said, were against Islamic junctions and urged his colleagues to give up the fight and surrender to the military authorities.

It was stated that Ismaeela was helping the security agencies with useful information on the location of commanders of the sect.

He said that he lost his right leg in an attack  at Konduga, Borno State but continued with the Boko Haram because he was brainwashed.

“Abu Hafsat, a Boko Haram commander, and I led other fighters to abduct the Chibok girls. We led the operations to invade Gwoza, Bama, Limankara Mobile Barracks, Bita, Bosso, Madagali, Chibok, Pulka, Firgi, and Mubi.

“In Madagali which was my home town, Adam Vitiri, Abu Adam and Habu Kudama, some high ranking Boko Haram commanders and I led an operation in 2014 where we killed some students and youths at the Central Secondary School in Sabon Garin, Madagali.

“In one of the operations, I abducted my wife named Maryam who had two kids for me in Sambisa Forest.

“It is unfortunate that I was brainwashed and misled not only on some abductions but in the killings of my own people that were innocent. I wholeheartedly regret my actions.

“During a battle in Konduga, Boko Haram commanders and I led the operations; I lost my right leg and almost got burnt. Even at that, I did not stop fighting for the cause. Sheikh Shekau ordered that I should be given a tricycle which I continued to use for various operations before I eventually surrendered,” he was quoted as having said.

Ismaeela said that he had to surrender to the military because he was tired of the senseless killings with the members and stealing and acts opposed to the teachings of Islam.

Auwal recalled that women were being raped in public, children starved to death and many dying daily.

He added, “I will continue to cooperate with the security agencies in providing useful information on our mode of operations and to disclose top-secret hideouts of our commanders.”

Meanwhile, two factions of the Boko Haram insurgency group may be ready for talks with the Federal Government, Abdulkadir Abubakar, a former commander of the group, has claimed.

Abubakar, also known as Abu Muhammad, was the chief intelligence officer of the Boko Haram group and one of its top commanders, until his arrest in June by the military in Buni Yadi in Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State.

A car wash attendant, Sam Ogechi, has said he stole a Toyota Venza SUV belonging to his boss to raise money for his university education.

The suspect, who was tracked to Ohafia, Abia State, where he fled to with the vehicle, explained that he planned to sell the SUV for N1.5m.

Ogechi was employed on August 3, 2017, but he fled with the vehicle 48 hours later. He parked it at the Games Village, Umuahia.

The former construction worker was apprehended by operatives of the FCT Police Command Anti-car Theft Unit.

The 28-year-old explained that he borrowed N80,000 from a friend to repaint the vehicle.

He said, “I convinced one of my friends, Umeh, to lend me N80,000. I gave the painter N50,000, and used the balance to fuel the vehicle and sort out some expenses. I wanted to sell the SUV to raise money for my education.”

Detectives said the car owner had asked Ogechi to wash  it, but he requested the key to warm up the engine.

40-Year-Old Lures Three Years Old Pupil With Bread, Defiles Her

A 40-year-old man, Kehinde Gabriel, has been arraigned before a Lagos State Magistrate’s Court in Ikeja for allegedly defiling a three-year-old girl in Onaosa, in the Ibeju-Lekki area of the state.

Gabriel is a native of Ogun State and neighbour of the girl’s parents. Punch Metro learnt that the girl was going to a mosque with her sisters on August 16, 2017, and was left behind when the accused laid in ambush for her.

Gabriel reportedly lured her into his apartment with a loaf of bread and drink and defiled her.

The mother of the girl told the police that the kid returned home crying, adding that blood was found in her private parts.

She said, “She went to the mosque with her other sisters on that day. After some minutes, she returned home with a bottle of drink and bread, crying.

“I asked her what was wrong and she said it was Uncle Kehinde (Gabriel) that gave the items to her. She was running temperature. While her father and I were checking her body, we saw blood in her private parts.”

But the suspect denied committing the crime, saying he gave the girl food because she complained of hunger.

He said, “I saw the girl crying beside my house and I asked what happened to her. She said she was hungry and I gave her bread and beans. I did not defile her.”

The Police Prosecutor, Inspector Simeon Imhonwa, who brought the suspect to court, said the offence was punishable under Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2011.

The charge read, “That, you Kehinde Gabriel, on August 16, 2017, on Ogunse Street, Onaosa, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did unlawfully defile a three-year-old, thereby committing an offence punishable under Section137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.”

The presiding magistrate, Mrs. B.O. Osunsanmi, granted the accused bail in the sum of N500,000 with “two reputable sureties” each in like sum.

Osunsanmi added that the sureties must provide evidence of two years tax payments to the Lagos State Government.

She adjourned the case till October 17, 2017 and directed that the duplicate case file be sent to the Directorate of Public Prosecutions for legal advice.

The suspects- Sunday Atanda and Fausat Tijani were arrested by men of the Rapid Response Squad on Saturday.

According to a statement by the RRS, the suspects, who were arrested in Oshodi, were taking their victim to an unknown location when she regained consciousness and called for help.

“The victim was accosted and hypnotised by the five gang members and dispossessed her of a purse containing N120,000, and a mobile phone.

“They were taking her away when the lady regained consciousness and called out to RRS officers stationed nearby.

“The officers arrested Sunday Atanda, and Fausat Tijani, a 58-year-old pure water seller in Akala, Mushin, while three other members of the syndicate escaped.”

Atanda was said to have identified other members of the gang as one Kayode, Shina and Lateef.

The suspect, who claimed to have joined the gang in order to make a living, allegedly told the police that the group wanted to dispossess the mother of three of all valuables when they were arrested.

In a related development, two men – Chinasa Sunday and Osadebe Aigbe – were arrested on Thursday for allegedly defrauding a woman of N85,000.

The police were said to have been on the trail of the suspects after their victim, one Grace Enitan, reported at the RRS office that they defrauded her while she was heading to Ikeja in a cab.

“Investigations revealed that Sunday and Aigbe were involved in the fraud, while their ringleader, identified as Martin, is on the run.

“The victim identified the two suspects and their roles in the scam at the RRS office.

“Chinasa, while pleading for leniency, explained that he joined the syndicate after losing his job in February 2017.

“He explained that they picked up the suspect in Olowopopo Way, Ikeja, adding that his role was to monitor victims while the scam lasted,” the police said.

I’m Ready To Die To Stop APC Winning Rivers – Nyesom Wike

The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, on Sunday gave an indication that the 2019 election in Rivers State could be as violent as previous elections.

Mr. Wike, of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has been having a running battle in the state with his predecessor and current transportation minister, Rotimi Amaechi, who is of Nigeria’s ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

Speaking on his preparedness to defend his party’s votes with his life, Mr. Wike was quoted by his spokesperson as saying “I am ready to place myself on line, nobody will take Rivers State.”

Mr. Wike’s statements were contained in a statement by his spokesperson, Simon Nwakaudu, who said the governor spoke at a thanksgiving service.

The governor also spoke about a recent ruling by the Court of Appeal that annulled the election of a PDP senator and replaced him with that of the APC.

“2019, they will not succeed. As far as we are concerned, we have no senator in Rivers East. The man going there has no capacity to represent us,” he said.

Read Mr. Nwakaudu’s full statement below.

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has decried the destruction of key national institutions by the poor governance model of the APC Federal Government.

Speaking during a Thanksgiving Service in honour of Senator George Thompson Sekibo at the St Thomas Anglican Church in Diobu on Sunday, Governor Wike said that due to the negative governance style of the APC, the police and INEC have metamorphosed into rigging machines that threaten the peace of the country.

According to him, the Appeal Court judgment which led to the loss of Rivers East Senatorial District mandate was a fallout of the unfortunate illegal alliance between the police and INEC.

He explained that the APC tendered results certified by the Police to the Tribunal, which the tribunal relied on, rather than the results declared by INEC on election day. He said incidentally, both the INEC and Police results had the same serial numbers, which revealed the fraud perpetrated by the two institutions.

He said: “Instead of bringing change as they promised, things are getting worse. They have introduced extreme fraud in the country, especially denying the people their mandate.

“2019, they will not succeed. As far as pee are concerned, we have no senator in Rivers East. The man going there has no capacity to represent us. All of us should be ready. We should be praying to God, but ready to fight”.

The governor said that nobody should be afraid of the Police and the Army in the defence of their mandate in 2019.

“Nobody should be afraid of the Police or Army, because liberty comes with a price. They have nothing to campaign with outside the use of security.  I am ready to place myself on line, nobody will take Rivers State “, he said.

Governor Wike explained that he was at the airport to receive President Buhari because the President is for all Nigerians, irrespective of political parties. He, however, said that he continues to disagree with the policies of the Federal Government, especially the faulty fight against corruption.

In his remarks, George Sekibo reiterated his declaration that he received unflinching support from Governor Wike and Ikwerre people all through his political struggle.

He said that there was no Ikwerre agenda in his ouster from the Senate.

Mr. Sekibo, a senator, said: “If it was an Ikwerre Agenda, it would have been displayed at the point of voting.  At the tribunal, those who took away the mandate were not Ikwerre people.”

Delivering his sermon, Richard Okpara urged judicial officers to use their constitutional powers for the good of the country.

He also called on the Federal Government to learn to accommodate all political interests, saying that the political space should not be overheated.

“We must learn to blend for the good of the nation. We must be careful not to heat the polity. Variety is the spice of life, monotony kills interest.”

The Huge Sacrifice Prince Harry Made For Williams

Princes William and Harry have been through testing times in their lives, but it's clear the two men are incredibly close.

What many people might not know is that Harry made a lovely sacrifice for his big brother when William asked Kate Middleton to marry him in 2010.

After the death of their mother, Diana, in 1997 the boys were taken to choose a "keepsake" from her belongings in Kensington Palace, according to reports from a source 'close to the Royals'.

“William picked his mum’s Cartier watch, and Harry picked her sapphire and diamond engagement ring," the source told the Daily Star.

Harry was just 12 when he chose to keep his mum's engagement ring.

However, as William was the first to get engaged he gave it up so his older brother could offer it to his bride, Kate Middleton.

“They had an agreement that whoever got engaged first would have Diana’s ring – and of course that was William and Kate," the source added.

So what happens if 32-year-old Harry now chooses to propose to girlfriend Meghan Markle?

There are rumours he will choose one of Diana's tiaras to make into an engagement ring, presumably by taking out a jewel or two.
