A car wash attendant, Mohammed Chado, has been arrested by the police in Abuja for allegedly selling a Toyota Camry that was given to him for washing.

The suspect, who worked at a car wash outlet in Apo, Abuja, allegedly made away with the car and sold it for N450,000, which he used to marry a wife.

Chado, 29, was among 40 suspects paraded on Wednesday by the Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory, Sadiq Bello.

The police boss said, “Chado was arrested at Batafe village in Niger State where he hid after he sold a Toyota Camry that was given to him for washing.

“He escaped with it, sold it for N450,000 and used the money to marry a wife. The stolen car has been recovered.”

Chado, explained that out of the proceeds, he spent N300,000 on his wedding and expended the balance on feeding and other needs.

Lagos Tailor Caught With Three Human Skulls

A 32-year-old Lagos tailor, Mr. Suleiman Ajenifuja, has been arrested with three suspected human skulls.

The father of two, who also claimed to be working as a street sweeper in Lagos, said he was taking the skulls to an Islamic cleric for spiritual purposes when he was arrested.

He said he combined street sweeping with tailoring, adding that he wanted to use the skulls to make a ritual to draw more customers to his shop.

Ajenifuja said a friend connected him to the Islamic cleric.
He said, “I am a tailor, but I also work with the Lagos State Government as a street sweeper from 11pm to 2am. While I was working one night, I saw a bag containing these things (the skulls). I initially wanted to drop the bag, but someone told me that the skulls could be used for some things.

“I contacted one of the boys that we usually talk together, named Saheed, and he gave me the Alfa’s phone number. When I called the Alfa, he told me to come to Ilorin. I have never been to Ilorin before, but he asked me to alight at a particular place where he would come to pick me.

“He had earlier asked me what I wanted to do with the items and I told him that I wanted what would bring more people to my shop.”

The Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Mr, Ado Lawan, who paraded Ajenifuja along with other criminal suspects in the state, said he was arrested on March 26 by operatives of the Federal Highway Patrol Team of the command, led by one Mr. Erumebekakhue Benson.

He added that the team intercepted a commercial vehicle conveying seven passengers en route to Ilorin from Lagos.

He said when the passengers were searched, three skulls wrapped in a sack were recovered from a black bag belonging to Ajenifuja.

According to him, the suspect admitted to being the owner of the exhibits and claimed to be taking them to Ilorin from Lagos for ritual purposes.

The CP said the suspect would be arraigned after investigation.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ Tommie failed to appear for a hearing Wednesday in Fulton County, Atlanta over her arrest in 2016 on charges that included DUI and driving without a license. Her no-show triggered a warrant for her arrest.

Travis Scott Sued For Holding On To Cash After Canceling Show

Travis Scott bailed on a concert in Minnesota the night before the Super Bowl, but held onto the cash he was paid in advance for it, according to a new lawsuit.

An entertainment events company called PJAM claims it paid the rapper $150k upfront plus $10k to his booking agent to perform at Myth Nightclub near Minneapolis on February 3.

According to the documents, PJAM also arranged for a private jet for Travis, and spent a lot of dough promoting the show, but he backed out hours before.

Sources close to Travis say at the time it was due to weather and logistics, but according to the documents, PJAM says Scott "refused to show up to the event."

It's unclear if PJAM thinks Travis bailed due to fatherhood, but it insists the rapper has not paid back the $150k advance. The company also wants damages for the shot to its reputation.

Rosa Salazar's BF Claims She's A Horrible Person

Rosa Salazar haunted the crap outta people on "American Horror Story," but her ex-bf claims she's way scarier in real life, imagine the guy o, lol.

Sam Setzer filed for a restraining order against Rosa, and in the docs he says she's been terrorizing him ever since their March 19 breakup.

Sam says Rosa -- who played murdered nurse Maria on season 1 of 'AHS' showed up at his house around midnight, rang his doorbell and screamed loudly enough to wake his neighbors. He's pretty confident she was intoxicated.

In the docs, he says Rosa threatened to call cops and lie about him hitting her. Sam says he decided to call cops first, and that's when Rosa bolted.

Besides that horror show, he says Rosa's flooded him with calls and texts including one that said, "If pushed I can be a stressful/stressed person."

He was granted the restraining order which requires her to stay 100 yards away from him.

Interestingly, Sam says they only dated for a month.

Pray For Leah On Good Friday, CAN Tells Christians

The Christian Association of Nigeria has called on all churches in the country to pray for the freedom of Leah Sharibu from the captivity of the Boko Haram terrorists on this year’s Good Friday, March 30.

The organisation also reminded the Federal Government and the security agencies of the need to free Leah and other captives from the captivity of the Boko Haram terrorists.

The President of CAN, Dr. Samson Ayokunle, in a statement by his Special Assistant, (Media & Communications), Deacon Adebayo Oladeji, obtained by The PUNCH on Wednesday in Jos, said the call for prayer for the release of Leah was in line with the Passion Week when Jesus Christ, with passion, willingly went to the cross in order to pay for the sins of the world.

CAN also called on all Christians to use the Passion Week to pray for the country “to be free from all forces of darkness and for those who have lost their relations or property during the recent terror and herdsmen attacks.”

Witchcraft: Uganda Shuts 23 Radio Stations

Ugandan authorities have shut down 23 radio stations for “promoting witchcraft’’ and trying to con people out of money.

The stations’ licencses were suspended after they had guests on air who claimed they could heal diseases like HIV, Pamela Ankunda, the Uganda Communications Commission spokesperson said.

“The radios have been promoting witchcraft. People claimed on these radios to cure diseases like AIDS and cancer. These people have been fraudulently getting money from the public,’’ she added.

“Their operations and licences have been suspended until they are able to assure the commission through writing that they will abide by the minimum broadcasting standards,’’ Ankunda said.

Pope Under Attack Over Canadian School Abuse

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said he was disappointed by the refusal of Pope Francis to personally apologise for the role of the Catholic Church in abuse suffered by tens of thousands of Indigenous children at Canada’s infamous Indian residential schools.

“Obviously I’m disappointed with the Catholic Church’s decision not to apologise for their role in residential schools,” Trudeau told reporters, adding that he would continue pressing the pontiff for an apology.

It is estimated that more than 150,000 First Nations, Inuit and Metis children were separated from their families and forced into residential schools run by the Catholic and Anglican churches on behalf of the federal government over much of the last century.

It was part of a deliberate policy of forced assimilation to “take the Indian out of the child.”

Canada’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission has called it “a cultural genocide.”

A papal apology was one of the 94 Calls to Action recommended by the commission on the road to reconciliation between Canada and its Indigenous population in 2015.

However, a letter released Tuesday by the president of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB) said Pope Francis could not personally apologise for residential schools.

“The Holy Father is aware of the findings of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, which he takes seriously,” said the letter from Bishop Lionel Gendron, president of the CCCB.

“As far as Call to Action #58 is concerned, after carefully considering the request and extensive dialogue with the Bishops of Canada, he [Francis] felt that he could not personally respond.”

Ted Quewezance, who was abused while attending a Catholic residential school, told CBC News he was disgusted with the pontiff’s stance.

“They haven’t changed their position from day one. And they never will. The only thing [the Church] could say is sorry he got caught, that’s all,” said Quewezance.

“They know they did wrong. When you do wrong, you apologise.”

The pontiff’s refusal to extend a personal apology has perplexed many Canadian Catholics, especially since Pope Francis has extended similar apologies for the treatment of Indigenous people in Latin America, as well as to victims of sexual abuse in Ireland.

Buhari Offers Amnesty To Repentant Boko Haram Insurgents

Boko Haram members willing to surrender their arms will be granted amnesty, President Muhammadu Buhari said yesterday.

The President made the offer while receiving 105 Dapchi secondary schoolgirls and two Dapchi Primary School pupils earlier abducted by the insurgent group at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The insurgents had invaded Government Girls Science and Technical College (GGSTC), Dapchi, Yobe State on February 19 and abducted 111 girls.

Receiving the girls in Abuja two days after they were returned by the militant sect, Buhari said the Federal Government was ready to rehabilitate penitent members of the sect and reintegrate them into the society.

He said: “While further efforts are being made to secure the release of every abducted citizen in Nigeria, Government is ever ready to accept the unconditional laying down of arms by any member of the Boko Haram group who shows strong commitment in that regard.

“We are ready to rehabilitate and integrate such repentant members into the larger society.

“This country has suffered enough of hostility. Government is, therefore, appealing to all to embrace peace for the overall development of our people and the country.”

Woman Scarred For Life After Contraceptive Implant Gets Stuck In Her & Doctors Still Can't Find It

A woman with a contraceptive implant stuck in her arm for two years now faces surgery as doctors are unable to find it. Anneyy Madden, 22,  had the device fitted in 2013.

It is a small flexible plastic rod that gets placed under the skin of a woman’s upper arm, preventing pregnancy by releasing a hormone called progestogen into the bloodstream.

The implant, which is over 99 percent effective, is considered to be a good method of contraception for people who struggle to remember to take the pill regularly, but it has to be replaced every three years.

It is said the device can be removed at any time - but for Anneyy, this was not the case.

She said: “It was meant to be removed in 2016.“They’ve tried to remove it about four times but it’s still there. I’ve been to the hospital, to a GP and to see a specialist but it’s still there and they can’t locate it.

“They have picked it up in an X-ray so they know it’s still there - but they can’t tell me where it is. I have to have surgery now. They have to sedate me.”

Anneyy, who works as a carer, said she should be operated on some time this year but she does not yet know when this will be.

She said medics tried to “dig it out” in August 2016 which left scars on her arm. The scars have failed to heal and she said she was advised not to use any other form of contraception in case it counteracts with the implant.

Anneyy said: “It’s been there for about two years now and they can’t tell me if it’s still working. “I did use the pill before I had the implant but it didn’t work with my body at all.

“The injection didn’t agree with me either.“It’s been there for over two years and it’s frustrating really.

“I just don’t know what’s happening and I feel like I have no one to talk to. I just seem to be passed from person to person.”

She however concluded saying, she had been told it’s quite a rare thing to happen.

She also says she won't advise anyone to get one after her experience.

Trump Signs New Order Banning Transgender Individuals From The US Military

President Donald Trump has signed a new order banning transgender individuals from the US military.

The memorandum said transgender individuals with a history of gender dysphoria, defined as “those who may require substantial medical treatment, including through medical drugs or surgery,” are disqualified from military service “except under certain limited circumstances.”

It added that the secretaries of defence and homeland security “may exercise their authority to implement any appropriate policies concerning military service by transgender individuals.”

The White House said Defence Secretary Jim Mattis had found that individuals with a history or diagnosis of gender dysphoria presented a risk to military effectiveness.

“This new policy will enable the military to apply well-established mental and physical health standards ... equally to all individuals who want to join and fight for the best military force the world has ever seen,” it said.

Gaddafi's Son 'To Run For Libyan President' In 2018

The son of the late Libyan leader Col Muammar Gaddafi is to run as a candidate in the country’s presidential elections this year, according to local media reports.

Saif al-Islam Gaddafi was once the heir apparent to his father’s regime but is now wanted by the International Criminal Court for crimes against humanity during his father's brutal efforts to put down the 2011 rebellion against his rule.

His candidacy was announced by officials in the Libyan Popular Front party during a news conference in Tunis on Monday. Khaled Guel told al-Araby al-Jadeed, a pan-Arab newspaper, that Libya needed to get past recent divisions.

"The humanitarian situation is deteriorating and the path forward is unclear. Therefore many Libyans now believe that the only way to save the country is through Saif al-Islam," he said.

Saif al-Islam had been held by a militia in the town of Zintan for six years after his father was driven from power by rebels.

In 2015 he was also sentenced to death in absentia by a court in Tripoli.

However, he was released in June last year, apparently after being granted amnesty by one of the country’s two competing governments and now he wants to run for President.

R&B singer Trey Songz has surrendered to police for allegedly punching a woman at a Los Angeles Party, authorities said. Songz, whose real name is Tremaine Neverson, is accused of felony domestic violence and was released from jail on $50,000 bail shortly after being arrested, police said.

Andrea Buera told reporters last week that the 33-year-old repeatedly punched her in the face because he was upset that she was talking to another man at a party last month.

The singer released a statement on Twitter Monday, claiming he is being “falsely accused for someone’s personal gain.”

“For weeks my lawyers & Mgmt have asked me not to comment on this and I initially agreed but this morning I feel that my fam, the women that raised me, my friends & fans especially the youth need to hear from me,” Songz tweeted. “I am being lied on and falsely accused for someone’s personal gain.”

The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, disclosed this in a statement saying the President had sent a congratulatory letter to Putin on behalf of himself, the government and people of Nigeria.

The President said Putin’s “success for the fourth time in the election is a clear testimony of the confidence” Russians have in his leadership.

He also urged his Russian counterpart to “see this victory as a base to continue to promote international peace and stability.”

Buhari assured President Putin of “Nigeria’s commitment to a stronger and mutually beneficial relation with the Russian Federation under your watch.”

He said he looked forward to continue working with the Russian leader “to strengthen our defence, trade and technical partnerships as well as promotion of private sector participation in all sectors of our economies.”

African Migrants Worse Than Terrorists- Netanyahu

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu this week said the border fence constructed along Israel’s border with Egypt is holding back a potential “flood” of illegal migrants from Africa, and charged they were worse than terrorists in the Sinai peninsula.

Speaking at an event celebrating the Negev region held in Dimona, the prime minister said that Israel has recently completed a fence along “more than 200 kilometers [120 miles] of the border with Sinai.”

Without the fence, “we would be faced with … severe attacks by Sinai terrorists, and something much worse, a flood of illegal migrants from Africa,” he said.

The comments come as Israel has embarked on a highly controversial campaign to deport thousands of African migrants in the country.

ADL Slams Chief Rabbi For Likening Black People To Monkeys...

The Anti-Defamation League slammed the Sephardic chief rabbi of Israel on Tuesday after he likened black people born from white parents to “monkeys” during his weekly sermon on Saturday evening.

“Racially charged comment made by Israeli Chief Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef, comparing people of color to “monkeys”, is utterly unacceptable,” the Jewish civil rights organization posted in a tweet.

In a video, shared by Ynet news site, Yosef was addressing Jewish legal aspects of the blessing on seeing fruit trees blossoming, during the current Hebrew month of Nissan, and, specifically, whether one should bless one tree or at least two.

In that context, he discussed another blessing mentioned in the same section of the Talmud, which is recited upon seeing an “unusual creature.” The Talmud states that the blessing should be recited when seeing “a black person, a very red or very white person.”

Yosef explained that the Talmud is not referring to an African-American, but a black person born to two white parents. When referring to African-Americans he used the word “kushi” which is the word used by the Talmud but is a pejorative term in modern Hebrew. He then compared this black person to a monkey.

“You can’t make the blessing on every ‘kushi’ you see — in America you see one every five minutes, so you make it only on a person with a white father and mother,” the chief rabbi said.”How do would you know? Let’s say you know! So they had a monkey as a son, a son like this, so you say the blessing on him.”

In response, the rabbi’s office said that he was merely citing the Talmud, which states that the same blessing is recited upon seeing an elephant, a monkey or an ape.

Yosef has been known to court controversy in his sermons.

In a sermon delivered in May last year, he appeared to suggest during his weekly sermon that secular woman behave like animals because they dress immodestly.

Mariah Carey's Ex, James Packer In 'Health Issues'

Australian tycoon James Packer Wednesday quit as director of his gaming empire Crown Resorts as he battles “mental health issues,” stepping back from all commitments, his company said.

The billionaire mogul has been in the spotlight for personal reasons in recent years following his high-profile engagement and subsequent split from US diva Mariah Carey.

He was also questioned by police in December over a corruption probe involving Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is suspected of receiving luxury gifts from wealthy supporters.

Packer is not suspected of criminal conduct in either Israel or Australia.

“Mr James Packer today resigned from the board of Crown Resorts Ltd for personal reasons,” said a spokesperson for his private investment vehicle Consolidated Press Holdings, which is Crown’s largest shareholder.

“Mr Packer is suffering from mental health issues. At this time he intends to step back from all commitments.”

Packer had only returned to the board last year after previously stepping down to focus on international interests.

He returned to help oversee a revamp of the company after 19 current and former employees were held for 10 months in China on charges of luring rich Chinese to Australia.

Economic Ties: Trump Praises Saudi Crown Prince

Saudi Arabia Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman opened a marathon tour of the United States on Tuesday by soaking in praise from US President Donald Trump, who championed close economic ties and increased military sales to the Saudis as he hosted the young heir to the throne in the Oval Office.

Trump and the crown prince looked past the two nations’ differing views about waging war in Yemen as they came together for an Oval Office meeting and working lunch. Instead, they focused on areas of easy agreement: Saudi investments in the US, American arm sales to the kingdom and sharp criticism of their mutual foe: Iran.

Trump sounded an ominous note as he looked ahead to a decision in May about whether to stay in the Iran nuclear deal, loathed by both Trump and the Saudis.

“We’ll see what happens,” Trump said. “Iran has not been treating that part of the world, or the world itself, appropriately. A lot of bad things are happening in Iran.”

Prince Mohammed dodged a shouted question on the Iran deal, but waxed optimistic about prospects for closer economic ties amid “new waves of opportunities in different areas.”

“The opportunities are very huge,” Prince Mohammed said in English.

In a major Saudi shakeup last year, Prince Mohammed pushed aside his older and more experienced cousin to become first-in-line to his father’s throne, setting himself up to control Saudi policy for decades to come. Trump embraced the move, telling Prince Mohammed that “some tremendous things have happened” since he last visited the White House.

“Your father made a very wise decision,” Trump said.

While in Washington, the crown prince will hold separate meetings with a long roster of influential US officials, including the secretaries of defense, treasury and commerce, the CIA chief and congressional leaders from both parties. Trump son-in-law Jared Kushner and White House envoy Jason Greenblatt, who are drafting Trump’s long-awaited Mideast peace plan, will also join the crown prince for dinner Tuesday, the Saudi Embassy in Washington said.

Powerful Storm Leaves 20 Dead At Madagascar

A powerful tropical storm that lashed the island of Madagascar has left 20 people dead and affected 19,000 more, according to an official toll.

The storm also closed several national highways that were flooded by the heavy rain, the country's disaster management office has said.

In a previous toll late Sunday it said 17 people had died and 15,000 had been affected.

Storm Eliakim slammed into the northeastern Masoala peninsula on Friday before barrelling south down the coast. By Monday it had moved away from the Indian Ocean island and "presents no more danger".

Madagascar, one of the world's poorest countries, is frequently hit by cyclones and tropical storms.
In January, cyclone Ava claimed 51 lives and in March last year at least 78 people perished in cyclone Enawo.

Dutch Animal Welfare Party Proposes Ban On Ritual Slaughter...

The Dutch animal welfare party submitted draft legislation proposing to ban all slaughter of animals without stunning.

The Party for the Animals’ new bill follows the passing in 2010 of a different bill that banned the custom, which is practiced by Jews and Muslims. The anti-Islam Party for Freedom, a right-wing populist movement, and several other parties joined the 2010 legislation submitted by the left-leaning animal party.

However, in 2012 the Dutch Senate scrapped the ban, making an exception in the law that allows the production of meat for Jews and Muslims, citing freedom of worship considerations. The new bill filed by the Party for the Animals proposes to do away with the exception, the NOS broadcaster reported.

Last year, representatives of the Jewish and Muslim faiths signed a contract with the government that enshrines and regulates the slaughter without stunning of animals. In both religions, animals must be conscious when their necks are cut.

The Organization of Jewish Communities in the Netherlands, or NIK, criticized the bill in a statement Tuesday, calling it “unacceptable and unnecessary” in light of agreements and compromises reached.

Across Europe, the Muslim and Jewish customs of ritual slaughter of animals and the circumcision of boys have come under attack in recent years by nationalists who regard them as foreign, and by liberals who view them as cruel.

India Confirms Killing Of 39 Workers In Iraq

India has confirmed the deaths of 39 construction workers kidnapped by Islamic State militants (IS) in Iraq. Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj said the DNA of 38 workers matched with bodies found in a mass grave.

Since the kidnapping in Mosul in 2014, the Indian government had always maintained that they were alive.

India was engaged in prolonged efforts for their release and even sought Iraq's help in locating them after Mosul was recaptured last year.

Ms Swaraj added that it was highly likely that the body of the 39th worker had also been found but she said that it was a 70% match.

She confirmed the deaths while speaking in the Rajya Sabha (upper house of parliament) on Tuesday.

In that post, she shared a picture of her father and wrote: “Papa, you would have been 95 years old today,” she wrote. “I think of you and I love you.”

Dion’s father, Adhemar-Charles Dion, died back in 2003. Dion’s parents are both musicians themselves and were married for 48 years. Dion is the youngest of their 14 children.

IS Kills 31 As Afghans Celebrate New Year

An Islamic State group suicide bomber struck on the road to a Shiite shrine in Afghanistan’s capital on Wednesday, killing at least 31 people as Afghans celebrated the Persian new year, authorities said.

Wahid Majro, spokesman for The Public Health Ministry, said 65 people were wounded in the attack, which was carried out by a bomber on foot.

IS claimed the attack in an online statement, according to the SITE Intelligence Group, which monitors jihadi websites. The group said the attack targeted “a gathering of Shiites celebrating Nowruz.”

The Persian new year, known in Afghanistan as Nowruz, is a national holiday, and the country’s minority Shiites typically celebrate by visiting shrines. The Sunni extremists of IS have repeatedly targeted Shiites, who they view as apostates deserving of death.

France Issues Arrest Warrant For Saudi Princess

A French judge has issued an international arrest warrant for the daughter of Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz in relation to an attack by her bodyguard against a worker in her Parisian flat.

Princess Hassa bint Salman is the sister of the powerful Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and is wanted for questioning related to armed violence, kidnapping, theft and death threats that a member of her security team is accused of.

The warrant, comes at a sensitive time in French-Saudi relations.

Under former president Francois Hollande, France nurtured closer ties with Sunni-ruled Gulf Arab states, in particular Saudi Arabia, due to its tough stance on Iran in nuclear negotiations.

However, the 32-year-old Saudi crown prince has in past months emphasised closer ties with U.S. President Donald Trump just as France’s leader, Emmanuel Macron, has in turn sought to improve relations with Iran, Saudi Arabia’s Shi’ite rival for regional influence.

4 Dead As Bridge Collapses Near Florida University

At least four people have died when a pedestrian bridge collapsed near Florida International University.

At least eight cars were crushed under the bridge and at least nine people were transported to hospitals for treatment, authorities said.

"The most important thing we can do right now is pray for the individuals who ended up in the hospital, for their full recovery, and pray for the family members who lost loved ones," Florida Gov. Rick Scott said Thursday night.

Scott said the state would do its best to determine if any wrongdoing led to the collapse and, if so, that people would be held accountable.

It is unclear why the bridge, which was still under construction, collapsed onto a busy state highway.

Queen Approves Prince Harry & Meghan's Wedding

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s royal wedding is barely two months away and Queen Elizabeth has officially given the couple her blessing.

As fifth (soon to be sixth!) in line to the throne, Harry must obtain formal permission from the monarch (a.k.a. his grandmother) to marry under the Succession to the Crown Act. That permission was formally granted on Thursday via a letter from Buckingham Palace. Though the letter is formal, the Queen couldn’t resist dropping a few sweet words about her “dearly beloved” grandson — while also using the given names for both Harry and Meghan.

“My Lords, I declare My Consent to a Contract of Matrimony between My Most Dearly Beloved Grandson Prince Henry Charles Albert David of Wales and Rachel Meghan Markle, which Consent I am causing to be signified under the Great Seal and to be entered in the Books of the Privy Council.”

School Staff Can Now Carry Arms In Florida

Florida Governor Rick Scott signed into law a bill backed by relatives of Parkland school shooting victims that restrict access to firearms and paves the way for some school staff to be armed.

Until yesterday, it was not clear if Scott would sign the measure which cleared the Florida legislature on Wednesday after three weeks of debate, during which emotions ran high.

The law raises the minimum age to purchase all firearms from 18 to 21 -- a move opposed by the powerful National Rifle Association lobby group -- bans modification devices that make a semi-automatic weapon fully automatic and increases mental health funding.

It also includes a voluntary "guardian program" named after coach Aaron Feis, who was slain in the Parkland attack.

The measure is intended to "aid in the prevention or abatement of active assailant incidents on school premises" by allowing some school employees to be armed.

The program is mainly aimed at staff such as coaches and school personnel, with teachers eligible if they have military or law enforcement experience.

Thailand's Rice Mills Drastically Collapse After Nigeria Stops Importation From Them

The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Mr Audu Ogbeh says Thailand has accused Nigeria of being responsible for the collapse of its seven rice mills following the drastic fall in rice importation from the country.

The minister made this known at a meeting of the Presidential Fertilizer Initiative ( PFI ) and leadership of the Fertiliser Producers and Suppliers of Nigeria ( FEPSAN ) held at the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Friday.

The meeting was presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Ogbeh said Thailand’s Ambassador to Nigeria made the “accusation’’ when he visited him in February.

According to the minister, the ambassador lamented that the collapse of the rice mills has increased the unemployment rate in his country from 1.2 per cent to 4 per cent.

“Just like two weeks ago, the Ambassador of Thailand came to my office and said to me that we have really dealt with them.

“But I asked what did we do wrong and he said unemployment in Thailand was one of the lowest in the world, 1.2 per cent, it has gone up to four per cent because seven giant rice mills have shut down because Nigeria’s import has fallen by 95 per cent on rice alone.

“So, Mr President we thank you for the support and we thank all the agencies and those of you in the private sector for your resilience,’’ he said.
